A self-taught painter with a background in Philosophy, Vivienne Strauss works predominantly in oil and watercolor, her paintings often migrating around the humor of being human – shared dejection, things left unsaid, false arrogance, disbelief, inspired irony.

Her work has been in several publications, including EdgyCute from Neo-Pop to Low Brow and Back Again (Harry Saylor) and Indie Craft (Jo Waterhouse). On occasion, she works in collage and her cut-paper, pop portrait collages can be seen both on the cover of Lea Godard’s published compilation of short stories, Femmes Contre Nature, Ray Parnac’s Croque-Monsieur, and on Vogue photographer Tim Walker’s web site. Her collage work was featured in The Guardian in 2016.
